Ice Wireless Teams Up With Whitehorse Firefighters To Raise $10,000 for Children and Families in Need

Whitehorse Firefighters Association To Hand Out Presents to Children and Families Over the Holiday Season

WHITEHORSE, YT – December 19, 2016 – Ice Wireless, a leading 3G/4G/LTE network provider in Canada’s North, teamed up this holiday season with the Whitehorse Fire Fighters Association in order to raise funds for children and families in need. The campaign, entitled ‘Share the Spirit’, raised funds online and through an in-store event on Saturday, December 17th at the Ice Wireless retail store in Whitehorse, Yukon.

The campaign was successful in reaching the target goal of $10,000. The in-store fundraising event drew hundreds of members of the community to support the initiative and Ice Wireless itself also donated funds to the Firefighter’s Association to ensure they reached their goal.

“We weren’t sure at first if we were going to get to the $10,000 goal but the donations kept pouring in and of course, we were standing by to make our donation as well, so in the end, we can call this fundraiser a complete success,” said Cameron Zubko, Chief Operations Officer for Ice Wireless. “This was a real show of support from the community for what the Firefighters are doing and we were glad to do our part.”

The Firefighter’s Association annual drive results in the delivery of Christmas food hampers and wrapped presents to approximately 200 families and almost 500 children each year.

“We are thrilled about Ice Wireless’ involvement in this campaign,” said Nicholas O’Carroll, Whitehorse Fire Fighters Association representative. “They provided the needed support for the Whitehorse Fire Fighters Association to reach our fundraising goal, and for that we are very fortunate. This is going to make a real difference for kids and families this holiday season.”
